The TL;DR

Last night I had a drink in the pub, while Claude and Notion worked together to completely restructure a proposal for me.

It's the most amazed I've been since I first tried ChatGPT.

This guide shows you exactly how to set it up.

What Actually Happened

Here's the real story from last night, US, SF based client. She emailed me saying my proposal was too expensive. Instead of spending an hour manually rewriting it, I:

  1. Took a screenshot of her email
  2. Pasted it into Claude
  3. Told Claude to find my original proposal in Notion
  4. Asked it to restructure the pricing to fit her budget
  5. Claude created a new proposal page directly in Notion
  6. I reviewed it while finishing my beer

Total time: About 5 minutes of my attention. Happy Friday evening.

Why This is a Big Deal

Most people use AI like a fancy text box. You paste stuff in, you get stuff out, then you copy-paste it somewhere else.

That's fine. But it's also friction.

With MCP (Model Context Protocol), Claude can actually connect to your tools. Not just respond to you, but do things in your workspace.

Old Way New Way
Copy text from Notion → Paste into Claude → Get output → Copy back to Notion "Find my proposal in Notion and revise it" → Done
You're the middleman Claude works directly with your tools
10 steps 2 steps
